My blog, my opinions; if you don't like it, don't read it. Simple pimple.

Well, I got baptized this weekend. Very neat experience... and I was ready for it. God has perfect timing. No special spiritual fireworks or anything. Just a commitment. A pledge, if you will... me saying that this is it, I've asked the hard questions and faced the dark inside, and I've made my choice; and now God and I are together for life. I finally have some measure of peace, which I'm learning is a side effect of trust.

Yep. Peace. Oh... and GUESS WHAT!!! Skillet is coming to Bismarck in October! You can bet anything you want that I'll be at that concert. Woohoo!! Majorly excited.

Tired today. Thanks to Wednesday's crazy 8:30 p.m. bedtime, I was full of energy and unable to go to bed last night any sooner than 11:30. It's all good though. Today's Friday; I can do whatever I want about sleep tonight.

Wow. I picked up three cds yesterday... a remix of Toby Mac's "Momentum" cd, Grits' "Dichotomy A," and Skillet's "Collide." The remix was alright... that was the most risky of the three, but worth the $10 when all is said and done. Grits' new cd was a solid purchase. My sister has it already, so I'd heard it before. Best rap I've heard in some time. Skillet though... oh, my, word. AWESOME stuff. They sound like Linkin Park now... but better. Never thought a Christian band would equal or succeed LP, but Skillet has done it with this cd. Amazing. I listened to it while driving all over the region last night, and was completely blown away. Instant favorite.

The weekend should be interesting. I intend to go VCR shopping tonight. Aside from that, not much is scheduled, which is actually good. I need to catch up with the small responsibilities that dominate my time en masse if I don't deal with them quickly enough.

That's all for now.

Yes yes, I know I've been gone for a month. Maybe the lapse will have given me more to talk about.

Life proceeds at pretty much the same pace as before... same texture too, mostly. The weather has cooled off considerably. I feel like I should be going back to school. There is change in the wind. I intend to take full advantage of it. Over the past week or so, I've been considering leaving Bismarck again. It's been about 2-3 years since I left last, so according to the pattern I should be ready for another attempt. However, now that I'm older, dropping everything and running off to a new environment isn't nearly so easy. I've got a job now, and an apartment, and a cat, and other such commitments. So perhaps it won't be an actual move. But I definitely need some kind of extended vacation.

Yesterday I listened to the home theater system I'm most likely going to buy. It's made by Kenwood, which from all accounts I've heard is a reputable brand. I would say it's a step up from your average theater-in-a-box. Self-powered sub, 600 total system watts, 5.1 surround sound, basic setup but completely upgradable. Perfect for me. I have to wait for a component to come in, so I might not get it for a couple weeks yet. But it'll be worth the wait. I'll have to be careful not to bother the neighbors, once it's here.

They're doing construction on my street now. That sucks... there's pretty much no way to avoid it. To make matters worse, the other street people normally use to get around this part of town is still closed (has been for months). Traffic has nowhere to go without working all the way around. What a pain. I really hate construction.

Yep... thank God it's Thursday. The weekend's just one more day away. I need to go downstairs to get a bag of cheddar-&-sour-cream chips from the vending machine. A girl does what she's gotta do to survive in the corporate environment.
